It’s the season of nasty weather and even colder temperatures, which many people don’t look forward to. We know that it can be a drag, but that doesn’t mean that your wardrobe has to suffer for it. In fact, this is the season to dust out some of the most stylish wears and rock them all through. Don’t know how to get started? Well, you’re in luck. Here are some of the do’s and don’ts for your fashion this winter.
DO: WEAR COOL JACKETS
Jackets are one of the most common fashion items in winter. These draw a lot of attention to you, and you would want this attention to be the good kind. It’s always a great idea to choose jacks with bright colors, which will stand out from the numerous greys you encounter every day. You don’t have to blend in with the crowd. Pea coats have always been attractive, and getting them in white or red colors catches the eye quickly. They are cute and classic.
DON’T: WEAR ONLY BAGGY CLOTHES
It’s very tempting to want to wear baggy sweaters as a way of keeping your body warm during the cold season. However, these are anything but flattering. Wearing baggy clothes would only make it seem like you’re trying to hide something, and that’s certainly not flattering to your figure. So, choose winter as the perfect time to get out your form-fitting clothes. Then, pair this with a jacket to stay warm. If you must wear baggy clothes, include a belt which will accent your waist nicely. If you have really nice long legs, show them off with jeans or leggings that fit you perfectly. This simply means that winter shouldn’t be a time to hide behind big clothes, but you can make the best of it with flattering clothing. Invest in jackets and coats that highlight your body shape.
DO: STICK TO TRENDS YOU’RE COMFORTABLE WITH
It’s important to stick with trends that you’re absolutely comfortable with. The ultimate satisfaction is to step out in clothes that enhance your confidence instead of diminishing it. So, be careful not to mix too many trends into a single outfit because you want to make a statement. Instead, pick about two that work together. Black turtle necks and a bright jacket will go together better than combining the bright jacket with a faux-fur vest. That definitely doesn’t come off as classy.
DON’T: WEAR DULL COLORS
The weather is gray enough without having to include this in your winter fashion. Instead of keeping your color choices dull or dark, add some sunshine to your wardrobe with bright colors. Some unique winter colors are deep red and emerald green. Pair this with brightly colored boots, and you’re good to go. With this, you’ll still be sticking to the color scheme of the season without looking so drab in dull colors. As much as you’re tempted to, don’t stick to all black.
Step out there and rock this winter as you should. These tips will help you mix and match perfectly.
